Foot Ulcers
Case 1
In 2005, Lee, a diabetic, suffered from a foot ulcer. The patient had initially planned to have his stem cells harvested in Taiwan as he was unaware that stem cell banking and therapy were available in Malaysia. Upon his doctor’s advice, he approached StemLife Malaysia. StemLife provided him with the adult stem cell collection and therapeutic care services.
“Basically the ulcer has healed by itself without antibiotics, the tissue has grown back. Initially, the doctor wanted to stitch the wound up so that it’s smaller but because the skin has grown back there is no need to stitch. In two more weeks, the outer skin will cover the inner skin fully and once it hardens, no more dressings will be needed. I’m happy with stem cell therapy and would recommend it to others. It does help I think.”
Lee age 47, March 2006
From the pictures below, a great difference can be seen in the appearance of his toe before and after stem cell therapy.

Case 2
“I wish to extend my deepest thanks to you, Professor Aw, Christine and StemLife for your assistance and care during my mother’s illness.
The stem cell treatment offered by StemLife to treat my mum’s diabetic foot ulcers substantially healed the ulcers and more importantly from my point of view, it gave her back some quality of life.
She was in constant pain for a year due to the ulcers despite the daily painkillers we gave her. She was still taking Panadeine on 21 January 2005, the day of the stem cell harvest. The diary I kept showed that we stopped giving her painkillers on 22 January 2005, the day after the stem cell harvest.
Had it not been for the stem cell treatment, I have no doubt that amputation below the knee would have taken place. I have enclosed a chronology setting out the significant events.
It is my hope that one day soon, stem cell treatment will be the first treatment offered to patient with diabetic ulcers.
I wish you and StemLife the best in your endeavors to break new ground in this treatment. Once again, my deepest thanks.”
